Welcome

This blog was born out of a desire to share the train journeys I have taken and my journey through the world of model railway building.

Some of the most cherished memories of my childhood are those spent walking with my Grandfather to the local train station in Adamstown to watch the new electric trains speed by. We would spend hours admiring the length and noise of the coal and freight trains before returning home. When my Grandpa passed away, my Grandmother continued the tradition often combining it with a trip to the local corner store or me learning to ride a bike.

Since those early days, my love of trains has continued to grow. When holidaying, I prefer to travel by rail to really experience the journey. Recent trips to Europe in 2015 and 2017 highlighted the benefits of rail travel on the high-speed Frecciarossa 1000 in Italy and the Eurostar between Paris and London.

More recently, I have rekindled my hobby of model building focussing on Model Railway building. I hope to share the journey in the world of model railway building sharing techniques, recommendations and thoughts along the way.
